Tami Huntsman lived a big life in Telluride and taught at Telluride Elementary and Intermediate Schools for over 20 years. She inspired students of all ages and was revered as their teacher. Passionate about art, color, and design, she honed her skills in stained glass and mosaics, and taught classes at the Ah Haa School for the Arts.

Always an adventurer, she was an avid hiker, biker, and skier. Few know and enjoy the San Juan Mountains as well as Tami did. As a special teacher and friend to many, and above all, a loving mother and grandmother, she leaves us lessons about an enthusiastic life well-lived. Facing a terminal illness, Tami left us the greatest gift as an inspirational pioneer, showing us how to choose death with dignity, and with so much color, beauty and love.
